We are looking for a registered nurse to join our nursing staff in providing excellent health care to our Oncology patients. Your duty of caring for the patients coming into our facility include tasks like creating and maintaining accurate patient records, administering medication and monitoring for side effects, recording vital signs, and reporting symptoms and changes in patient conditions.

• Position: Full Time - Registered Nurse

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Hourly Pay: $40.00 - $65.00 (Depending on experience & education)

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
• Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed by physicians
• Monitor patients for side effects and complications related to cancer treatment
• Educate patients and their families about the disease process, treatment options, and self-care techniques
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic medical records systems such as eClinicalWorks and Athenahealth
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
• Assist with procedures such as DME (Durable Medical Equipment) setup, sterile processing, and ambulatory surgery center operations
• Provide health coaching and support to patients undergoing cancer treatment

Requirements:

• Valid RN license in the state of CT
• Minimum of one years of experience in oncology nursing, preferably with experience in pediatric oncology or neonatal ventilator care
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration protocols and procedures
• Familiarity with eClinicalWorks and Athenahealth electronic medical records systems
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize patient care tasks
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of oncology nursing
