SUMMARY: The Assistant Product Manager assists with various aspects of product management including market research, competitive analysis, development support, feature prioritization, project coordination, and stakeholder communication. Works to help develop the overall business strategy by helping to define product goals and metrics. Helps to design and implement solutions to key problems to achieve vision. Assistant Product Managers work closely with other departments, helping to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery of products. While working under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, the Assistant Product Manager contributes to the overall success of the product strategy by supporting product development and helping to drive business growth. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Conducts market research including competitor reviews, customer needs, and forecast trends. Help identify new market opportunities and contributes to strategy development. · Helps to develop business case and rationale for new product investments. · Initiates and submits for approval new product development projects. · Helps to manage life cycle of product portfolio. · Assists the Marketing Manager in creating roadmaps that outline the timeline for developing and releasing new products for retail, planning budgets, and tracking expenses. · Supports the product road map to meet business objectives and goals. Helps prioritize features, coordinate projects, and ensures smooth execution of product plans using a phase-gate process. · Helps ensure that products are developed according to the product requirements, specifications, features, and functionality in following with the company brand strategy. · Collaborates with various stakeholders, including the sales department, vendors, and management. Communicates product information, tracks performance indicators, and reports on marketing promotions. · Write product documentation, such as user guides and release notes · Helps design and build retail planograms that support brand strategy. · Gathers and analyzes customer data to understand customer needs and pain points. · Tests products to ensure that they meet quality standards and gathers user feedback. · Translates analytics, data, and user feedback into actionable product plans. · Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing or similar with 2 years in product development or an acceptable combination of education and experience is preferred. Ability to analyze data and provide insights from data. Critical thinker and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication, creativity, project management and time-management skills. Team player with great interpersonal skills. Works well independently and takes initiative as needed. A decision maker with leadership skills and capabilities. Pays attention to detail and displays professionalism. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Fluent in a variety of programs and software.
