Minimum Qualifications: Attend the free Unified Sports Track and Field Coaches training and complete the free 90-minute course via the Special Olympics of Massachusetts (SOMA)Special Educator license preferred.Three years working in the field of special educationResponsibilitiesOversee the administration of the High Schools Unified Track and Field team which is a MIAA team sport comprised of athletes and peer partners with support from the Special Education Coordinator of Developmental ProgramsMeet regularly with Coordinator of Developmental Programs and SOMA to ensure quality program standards are being met and policies followed Organize and lead all practice sessions and meets both home and awayRecruit students with intellectual disabilities and autism and neurotypical peersCoordinate transportation for away meetsReports to: Special Education Coordinator for Developmental Programs and Athletic Director Work Hours: Varied based on practice and meet schedule. Compensation: $1,000 stipend to each coach paid for by the SOMA grant.
