Brockton Area Multi-Services Inc. is Hiring a Program Manager Near Brockton, MA

Overview

Full Time

BAMSI is looking for a Program Manager for BAMSI's Dorn Davies Senior Center (DDSC). DDSC provides programs and activities for the senior population in Brockton and surrounding communities. Activities and programing revolve around combating food insecurity, social isolation, care coordination, and connection to community resources.

BAMSI is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization founded in Brockton, Massachusetts, with a vision of driving change and creating equal opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and mental and behavioral health challenges. Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. (BAMSI) was incorporated on March 21, 1975 as South Shore Multi-Services Inc., under Chapter 180 of the Massachusetts General Laws, as a not-for-profit human service organization. On July 9, 1975, it changed its name to Brockton Area Multi-Services, Inc. It was formed for the development, coordination, and delivery of integrated human service programs, and according to its website, its mission is “to empower people and enrich their lives, through compassionate support and diverse services, one individual, one family a time.” BAMSI employees up to 2,000 people and operates adult, child, and family services, assisting approximately 30,000 individuals each year in Worcester, Middlesex, Norfolk, Bristol, and Plymouth Counties.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

· Develop and update program procedures and protocols to reflect industry standards and highest quality services.

· Manage the daily operations of the program and ensure the operations meet the standards of BAMSI and funding source.

· Plan, coordinate, implement program activities and events to meet the needs and interests of DDSC participants.

· Outreach to community providers to enhance onsite programing.

· Coordinate the monthly Brown Bag Program in conjunction with the Greater Boston Food Bank and BAMSI administration team.

· Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with BAMSI programs, community providers, and affiliated agencies.

· Ensure care coordination and planning for DDSC participants in the community.

· Advocate for access to community resources, on behalf of the persons served.

· Solicit, collect, and monitor donations (food or other items) in Brockton and surrounding communities.

· Collect, track, and document daily monetary donations and reconcile weekly with Program Coordinator or a designee.

· Collaborate with the BAMSI Marketing Department to develop new funding streams and organize fundraising opportunities for the program.

· Collaborate with BAMSI Finance Department to monitor program income and expenditures.

· Collect and track participant data, survey responses, and feedback (demographics and qualitative and quantitative outcomes).

· Ensure maintenance of accurate records and statistical reports as required by agency and funding source.

· Represent DDSC/BAMSI at all required funder and/or BAMSI meetings, coalitions, conferences, trainings/workshops, and events.

· Complete all necessary paperwork, documentation and data entry in a timely and accurate fashion including program reporting and evaluation for BAMSI and funders.

· Recruit, train, support, and supervise staff, volunteers, and interns.

· Monitor and enhance the quantity and quality of services provided by staff and volunteers.

· Perform duties consistent with program and agency policies and procedures.

· Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Universal precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.

· Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

· Bachelor-level degree in Human Services or related field or 3 years of experience in related field.

· Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of Massachusetts and own means of dependable transportation.

EXPERIENCE:

· Experience serving, relating, and supporting seniors.

· A minimum of 2 years of supervisory and leadership experience.

· Fiscal management, fundraising, grant writing, and program development knowledge preferred.

· Familiarity with the Greater Brockton Community and resources desired.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

· Strong customer service, administrative, and organizational skills.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work both independently, inter-dependently and to manage competing priorities.

· Proficient computer skills required, including Microsoft suite applications, online platforms, social media and zoom.

· Demonstrated problem-solving skills

· Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean and/or Haitian Creole preferred.

· Must have the ability to move items weighing up to 40 lbs. from floor level to approximately 4 feet above floor level.

· Must be able to ascend and descend staircases while moving items weighing up to 20 lbs.
