Job Title: Program Manager: Clothing Closet & Community Hygiene
Reports to: Director of Restorative Services
Compensation: 47,000- 51,500

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Program Manager for the Clothing Closet and Community Hygiene is responsible for
overseeing the Clothing Closet and Community Hygiene programs and their continued
evolution. This includes in-kind donation cultivation, inventory management, cultivation and
oversight of volunteers and their experience, managing related partnerships both in-house and
in the community, supervision of program coordinators, oversight of program implementation
and collaboration with other program managers regarding overall guest experience in direct
service areas. This position also has the opportunity to design, evaluate and implement new
and or evolving aspects of these programs. This position will work directly with the guests of
Broad Street Ministry who are experiencing impacts of deep poverty, trauma, symptoms of
untreated mental illness, substance abuse disorder and general marginalization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee program area implementation as it relates to our mission, functionality,
hospitality and constituent (guest/volunteer) experience
  • Evaluate inventory practices and create efficient system for strategic inventory
management
  • Document distribution of inventory and work with development team to process data
related to Clothing Closet and Community Hygiene program needs and trends
  • Collaborate with peer program managers and direct service workers to evaluate,
maintain, adjust or improve overall constituent experience or program’s efficiency,
functionality and safety
  • Effectively communicate need and cultivate/maintain in-kind donation opportunities for
Community Hygiene program (in-house and truck) and Clothing Closet Program
  • Evaluate inventory and create efficient system for processing/storing/distributing
current inventory, receiving new inventory and disposal of inventory that is unable to be
donated
  • Effectively delegate tasks related to program maintenance and implementation to
program coordinators, volunteers, temps and interns
  • Work with direct supervisor to cultivate/maintain mutually beneficial community
partnerships, including seeking new partnerships to support the mission and vision of
each program, and contribute to the MOU create and maintenance process
  • Maintain truck maintenance, be aware of licensing and insurance deadlines with the
support and communication of supervisor
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Minimum of 4 years experience in hospitality, retail, social services, management in

related fields preferred
  • Willingness to participate in leadership and management training programs
  • Experience managing or maintaining inventory
  • Ability to be affirming to the identity of all individuals
  • Experience working with communities that are impacted by deep poverty, trauma,
severe symptoms of mental illness and or substance abuse, and marginalization
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills with a high attention to detail
  • Consistent work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to remain calm in high stress and emergent situations
  • Ability to be diplomatic and/or professional in communicating with individuals or groups

that may be expressing alternative ideas or perspectives, or who may be using language
or tone that is disruptive or triggering

  • Strong communication, organizational and boundary-setting skills
  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve both on a system level as well as within
interpersonal dynamics related to the role
  • Ability to expand and develop networks of supporters, cultivate potential funders and
partners to further to mission of the agency
  • Ability to lift and move 25lbs

This position is located at Broad Street Ministry, 315 S. Broad Street. This position may require
weekly travel within the Philadelphia area. This position may require working outside. At the
discretion of management, this role may be performed remotely when appropriate and on
occasion. All remote (and partially remote) employees (permanent or temporary) will
occasionally be required to perform work on-site, and all or most orientations will occur on-site.

Salary Range:. The successful candidate will receive a competitive compensation package that
