This is a full-time position Monday – Friday, working a flexible schedule between the operating hours of 6:30am to 6:00pm (Ability to close 1 to 2 days per week). The pay is $16 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. Employees are offered paid holidays, annual performance/retention bonus and professional development with tuition reimbursement opportunities. This position is onsite at our center located at 1108 Peachtree Street, Cocoa FL 32922.

The VPK Teacher  coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children.
What You’ll Do :

• Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
• Manage adherence to quality standards in accordance with both center’s vision and state and local / state requirements
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
• Work with staff, children, and parents to foster a team environment
• Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
• Encourage children to develop a community-spirited classroom through sharing, caring and self-regulation
• Develop a well-balanced schedule of activities including learning, playing, and eating

What We Need from You:

• High School Diploma and/or degree in early childhood education or related field of study
• FL DCF 45 hours required and VPK Endorsements with a CDA preferably
• FL DCF Transcript – Please send transcript to Dbrown@source2.com. You can retrieve the transcript from https://training01-dcf.myflorida.com/studentsite/admin/signin• Minimum of 2 -3 years of professional early childhood education or experience
​​• Must clear a full background check
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and basic computer skills
• Strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where students are engaged and encouraged to succeed
• Effective in communicating with both students and adults to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide teacher assistants, and resolve parental concerns
• Demonstrate empathy and patience in difficult situations while being Cheerful, enthusiastic, and engaging in the workplace
• CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
