Overview

A wonderful family on the Upper East Side are seeking a weekend nanny for their toddler to start some time in June (by July 1st). The schedule will be Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 7pm, with flexibility to help Friday afternoons/evenings as needed or if additional hours are desired. The family is open to live-in or live-out candidates and they have a separate, private sleeping area in their home for the nanny. There will be a few weekends over each Summer where the role will be live-in, as the family will be in the Hamptons. They are also expecting a second baby in November and will have an NCS through February or March 2025, after which the baby will come under the nanny's care.

Responsibilities

• Care and engagement of the toddler
• Planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities that keep her busy and encourage her curiosity and creativity (outings to parks, museums, and classes and projects, games, and playdates in and out of the home)
• Helping active and engaged parents keep the child's life running smoothly 
• Keeping the child's spaces tidy and organized (stroller, nursery, play area, etc.)
• Managing her clothing and laundry
• Managing nap and feeding schedules
• Meal preparation for the child

Qualifications

• Warm and easygoing attitude
• Comfort with jumping in and out of family time (if parents want to take the child for the afternoon, nanny should be comfortable staying at home and completing a relevant project like meal prep or nursery organization)
• Calm, loving, patient, helpful personality
• Recent toddler experience and experience working with two young children (the family plans to grow in the coming year)
• Interest and knowledge about child development
• They value education, emotional intelligence, and have strong communication skills.
• A candidate with confidence and experience with the age group but who who can partner with and who will take carry out their disciplinary and philosophical preferences with childcare.

Requirements

• Occasional flexibility to stay later or travel over the weekend
• An up-to-date COVID vaccine
• Comfort with a dog in the home
• Legal to work in the US

Salary and Benefits

About $32-$36 per hour (~$700-800 for the 22 hour-week)
