The Director, US Medical Affairs Hematology, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) Lead will report to the Executive Director of Myeloid Diseases in US Medical Hematology. He/she will provide medical leadership for the AML book of work. This individual will be responsible for the development and execution of the medical strategy for current indications, the congress strategy, external stakeholder engagement strategy, evidence generation strategy and pipeline support. He/she will be responsible for the evaluation and support of investigator-sponsored trials and clinical research collaborations. He/she will work with the cross-functional team to identify efficiencies and synergies and foster overall collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of the strategic and tactical AML Medical Plan.

  • Responsible for the evaluation and support of investigator-sponsored trials, clinical research collaboration trials, and real world evidence studies.

  • Represent US Medical as the asset expert in both internal and external venues including the US and Global cross-functional teams, clinical sub-teams, and advisory boards / steering committees.

  • Represent BMS at professional meetings, congresses, and local symposia.

  • Provide high quality clinical input and review of congress abstracts, posters, presentation slides, manuscripts, educational materials, Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) protocols, steering committee and advisory board meeting materials, Medical Information response documents, Scientific educational grant requests and patient advocacy grant requests etc.

  • Lead/support various Medical Affairs cross-functional working groups. Collaborate with Medical Affairs field colleagues to define, guide and execute therapeutic regional strategies and tactics with appropriate use of resources.

  • Track priority Medical Affairs tactics and performance to goals/budget.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced degree in health-related field (MD, PharmD or PhD with experience in Myeloid); board-certified hematologist/oncologist highly preferred.

  • A minimum of 3 years industry experience strongly preferred.

  • Ability to effectively manage a team of peers

  • Experience in the conduct of clinical trials in hematology/oncology.

  • Proficiency in clinical data review and interpretation.

  • Excellent analytical skills and solid experience in translating medical/clinical information into medical affairs strategies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Matrix leadership of cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated customer focus orientation & credibility with healthcare providers.

  • Knowledge/application of data sources, reports and tools for the creation of solid plans.

  • ~30% travel required.
