Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation is Hiring an Outreach and Prevention Facilitator Near Aleknagik, AK
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To help build and promote a comprehensive outreach, education, and prevention program related to mental health. The goal of the position is to reduce the stigma surrounding people that experience mental health and substance use issues, increase community awareness of mental health and wellness topics, and increase prevention activities and community protective factors across the Bristol Bay region.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.High School diploma or equivalent required.
2.Requires excellent planning, oral and written communication skills, ability to workindependently, andproblem-solving.
3.Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with various cultural/ethnicgroups, lay people, and medical professionals.
4.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
5.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
6.Ability to enter data into a computerprogram and learn how to abstract that information into reports.Prefer experience in patient interaction and experience in working with confidential patient information.
7.Experience with media outreach, group facilitation, or community organizing preferred.
8.Must get Youth or Adult Mental Health First Aid instructor certification within six (6) months of hire and both within two (2) years of employment.
