Brilar LLC is Hiring an Operations Manager (Commercial Landscape and Snow Removal) Near Oak Park, MI

DescriptionThe Operations Manager position is critically important to our growth and success. As an Operations Manager, you will lead and manage crews to provide quality lawn maintenance and snow removal services to commercial properties safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
  • Enthusiastically support, adhere to, and promote our Vision, Mission, and Core Values
  • Support, adhere to, and enforce company policies
  • Set both short & long-range strategic plans, which coincide with the company's overall strategic plans
  • Support the achievement of the branch's sales & profitability objectives
  • Management of branch personnel
  • Coach, train, and actively develop branch personnel
  • Daily review and approve branch personnel timesheets
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new employees with assistance from HR team
  • Oversight of all aspects of operations and production for lawn maintenance and snow removal services to commercial properties
  • Before shift starts, finalize the production plan for the day
  • Ensure work is being conducted in a safe manner, and maintain work areas safe for the employee, the customer, the public and the environment
  • Oversight of the branch's fleet of trucks & equipment
  • Ensure equipment and tools have been inspected and maintained in accordance with approved procedures prior to the start of each day, between job sites, and at the end of the day
  • Ensure daily DOT inspections
  • Ensure proper facility cleanliness and maintenance
  • Assist the Branch Manager to assure branch facility and its assets are secured at the end of the day
  • Ensure any operation service issues are taken care of in a timely manner and quality
  • Establishing and promoting positive relationships with local vendors, service partners, local & state agencies, and the general public locally
  • Participate in sharing of best practices with other managers and key personnel throughout the company
  • Timely cooperative collaboration with other company departments, including the executive team
  • Accurate submission of all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Collaborates as necessary with corporate service center to make bulk parts and supplies purchases and to track the maintenance & repairs of vehicles and equipment
  • Report all incidents and injuries immediately
  • Participates in branch and corporate-level meetings
  • Always represent the company in a positive and professional manner
  • Continue to develop and improve skills and techniques through a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Stay well-informed of changes and advances in the world of commercial landscape maintenance and snow management
Requirements
  • Aligns well with Brilar’s core values, vision, and mission
  • Pass pre-employment DOT drug screen
  • Consent to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-incident drug testing
  • Have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Must be insurable by Brilar insurance carrier
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Professional-level knowledge and experience within the commercial lawn maintenance and snow removal industry
  • Must have management experience and have excellent managerial skills
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be self-motivated, well organized, and have strong time management skills
  • Have a positive and friendly attitude
  • Must have professional phone, meeting, and event etiquette
  • Must be able to work as a team and take direction from multiple sources
  • Must be a self-starter, able to productively work for extended periods of time with minimal direct supervision
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Required to be on call 24/7 during the winter season, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be time flexible, without schedule restrictions
  • Must have strong knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must sign confidentiality, non-disclosure, non-solicit agreement
