Job Description
Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Network Engineer to join our brand new, state of the art laboratory. As a Lead Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the access space of our end-to-end laboratory network. You will work with our team of engineers on developing and conducting test cases to identify issues and verify new products and firmware updates meet our standards for deployment.
As Lead Network Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:

• Work with the lab team on developing and running test cases.
• Conduct testing on Layer 2, Access devices in the lab.
• Conduct automated and manual testing on new products and firmware loads.
• Work with the Laboratory manger on developing key milestones.
• Work closely with the architecture on new products and deployments, and operations staff to identify and verify real-world issues and develop resolutions.
• Work cross-functionally with other team members across all network sectors.
• Provide periodic updates on Lab progress.
• Provide readouts of test results and root cause analysis.
• Work closely with vendors on solutions, bug fixes, and new products and firmware releases.
• Assist in developing and maintain standards and guidelines to preserve test integrity.
• Mange the Access devices configuration databases to preserve test integrity.
• Own the Lab life cycle for Access devices.

Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

• Bachelor's degree, or relevant experience.
• 10 years of ISP experience.
• Must be able to collaborate with a diverse team of individuals.
• Advanced understanding of Layer 2 and access technologies: VLAN, G.8032, LAG, PON, XGS-PON, GPON, xPON, VDSL and more.
• Experience with a variety of vendors: Calix, ADTRAN, Tellabs.
• Experience with trouble isolation and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency configuring layer 2 devices.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of team members, managers, and subject matter experts with strong presentation skills.
• Adaptive learner with excellent written & verbal communication and analytical/critical thinking skills
• Solid organizational skills, and ability to cope with deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.
