Job description

Job Duties:

  • Direct Care and Support:
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Professional Crisis Management ( Behavior Focus Facility)
  • Administer medications according to prescribed dosages and schedules.
  • Monitor and document vital signs like blood pressure and heart rate.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by adhering to proper protocols and procedures.
  • Case Management:
  • Assist with case management by coordinating appointments and communicating with healthcare professionals.
  • Advocacy and Promotion:
  • Advocate for resident rights and promote their needs and preferences.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents.

Requirements:

  • Experience and Knowledge:
  • Preferred experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of dementia care, hospice care, and working with people with developmental disabilities is advantageous.
  • Skills:
  • Ability to administer medication accurately and safely.
  • Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations and behaviors effectively.
  • Familiarity with resident rights and the ability to advocate for them.
  • Basic knowledge of case management principles and practices.
  • Certifications:
  • First aid certification is required; CPR certification is required; PCM certification is required; APD Certs
  • Background Check and Local Law is required.
  • Communication and Attention to Detail:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Candidates for this position should possess a combination of caregiving experience, medical knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, Professional Crisis Management experience, and a commitment to promoting the well-being of residents with special needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
