Position: ESTIMATING ASSISTANTReports To: Estimating Manager, MICK REID

Department: ESTIMATINGSupervises: Individual Contributor

Classification: Non-Exempt Payrate/Salary:

Employment type: Full-Time Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8:30-5:00;

½ hr unpaid lunch

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Estimating Manager, the Estimating Assistant is responsible for providing support to ensure bids and RFQ’s (Requests for Quotes) are processed in an efficient and accurate manner; and to provide prompt, professional communications with the objective of assisting BLUSA to meet our delivery and quality initiatives in a diverse manufacturing environment.

Essential Functions - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Sort inquires for proper estimator
    • Buy/sale items (Tim)
    • Rubber & Gaskets (Eric)
    • Manufacture & buy/sale (Matt)
    • CEO (Dan)
    • Estimating Manager (Mick)
  • Review bid for prep/quoting
  • Look for potential no bids
  • Find errors on the MCRL and bring to estimating managers attention
  • Copy pricing if within the rules
  • If drawing is required:
    • Locate drawings
    • Locate sub drawings if needed
    • Run Ils on subs if needed
    • Pull sales folders
  • Covers for other estimating assistants
    • Data Tech (Josh)
    • Estimating Assistant (Leivy)
    • Estimating Assistant (Nancy)
    • Estimating Assistant (Oliver)
  • Determines if a drawing needs to be ordered and passes on the information to the right associate
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects from start to completion
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Time management and deadline driven skills.
  • General Computer skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.


Education and/or Experience

  • 3-5 years general clerical or administrative experience. Manufacturing environment a plus.
