CFSP Office Administrator

The Center for Friction Stir Processing (CFSP) at Brigham Young University is seeking a dedicated individual to join us as a CFSP Office Administrator. In this role, you'll play a vital part in managing industry-funded projects in the Manufacturing Engineering department.

Reporting directly to the CFSP Director, you'll collaborate with site directors from other universities and engage with a diverse range of sponsors, including government entities, contractors, and companies of all sizes. In this position you will support the growth and development of our student researchers, faculty, and staff as well as foster strong relationships with our industrial sponsors. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating membership documentation, managing finances, and ensuring the proper handling of sensitive data. Working closely with the center director, you'll also assist in reporting research findings and managing project responsibilities, such as tracking spending and performance.

What you'll do in this position:

  • Act as the critical link between CFSP and its stakeholders, including industrial sponsors, budding researchers, and faculty members.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the CFSP website and data archive, handle membership agreements, and ensure the financial health of the center.
  • Organize campus visits and meetings to foster collaboration and engagement among CFSP members.
  • Facilitate hiring, evaluating, developing, and providing administrative support for CFSP student employees.
  • Arrange travel, recruit, and support CFSP student employees, manage lab access, and supervise approval processes.
  • Foster connections with industrial partners and provide support to CFSP's director in various operational tasks, contributing to the overall success of the center.


What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor's degree, 2 years of office experience, or the combined equivalent of education and experience.

Preferred

  • Master's degree in accounting, finance, MBA, or MPA
