Bridgeway Recovery is Hiring a Lead Substance Abuse Counselor - Adolescent Services Near Salem, OR

  1. PRIMARY PURPOSE

Primary responsibility is to build an alliance with clients by providing education, and motivation to support them in making positive changes in their life and reduce the negative consequences associated with substance use and abuse. Provides clinical supervision to substance abuse counselors, reviewing and provide feedback on clinical documentation within an electronic health record.

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide client centered care utilizing evidence-based and trauma informed services;
  • Uses motivational interviewing techniques to establish therapeutic rapport and facilitate active engagement in services.
  • Conduct assessment interviews using the ASAM PPC2-R.
  • Works collaboratively with other providers to ensure services are seamless.
  • Provides evidence based therapeutic interventions to address identified treatment and recovery goals.
  • Facilitates evidenced based groups.
  • Conducts individual counseling sessions.
  • Types and maintains timely and accurate documentation including group notes, individual notes, status reports, as well as documenting other contacts made concerning the client.
  • Monitors random urinalysis testing.
  • Monthly status reports completed for all clients on caseload and sent to providers involved with clients care.
  • Attends staff meetings and works as a member of a multidisciplinary team to identify and implement quality services.
  1. LEAD ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reviews clinical assessments and other documentation completed within the electronic health record for accuracy and completeness and adherence to Bridgeway standards;
  • Utilizes coaching with substance abuse counselors regarding client engagement and caseload management;
  • Conducts regular supervision sessions with CADC staff per OAR requirements
  • Contributes to the performance evaluation process by documenting performance, providing performance feedback, and work collaboratively with the supervisor in development of the formal annual evaluation;
  • Responds to informal client complaints and relays information to the supervisor.
  • Documents situations which may be cause for disciplinary action and provides this information to the supervisor.
  • Work with supervisor to facilitate team building.
  • Work collaboratively to prepare and facilitate team meetings.
  • Work closely with practicum students to enhance their clinical learning experience.
  • Assist supervisor in group observation and provide written feedback and coaching to staff.
  • Coordinate coverage when staff are out ill.
  1. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinates and maintains a working relationship with all referral sources
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Experience, Education and Credentials
  • Requires an associate degree or higher in Human Services or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of addictions counseling experience
  • Requires a CADC II or higher.
  1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Time management skills required to work effectively
  • Advanced understanding of ASAM PPC-2R and DSM required.
  • Intermediate understanding of Oregon Administrative Rules preferred.
  • Qualified candidate must be able to pass a criminal background check.
