Salary: $75,000 annually

Location: 282 E. Main Street, Somerville, NJ ( Somerset County)

Work hours: We have two full-time positions and per diem positions (exact schedule TBD Daytime and evening available (40 hours a week)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Certified Screener to work onsite at North Plainfield and/or Franklin Police Departments. The screener will be co-responding with officers on mental health calls coming through police dispatch and/or PESS crisis line. Mental Health Screener and Police officer will arrive on scene together to de-escalate crisis and link individual with least restrictive environment of care. (Ie: community mental health services/resources, voluntary hospitalization or start the process for involuntary hospitalization.) Certified screener can also schedule individual follow ups with individual in crisis to ensure linkage and no further escalation of crisis. For Fully Licensed Staff follow up services can include brief therapy.

Education and Experience:

• RN degree or Master’s degree in health-related field (social work, psychology)
• NJ Licensed Social Worker, NJ Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist or NJ Licensed Associate Counselor required
• New Jersey Screener Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 1 year of employment
• Prior experience as a NJ certified screener preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
