ABOUT THE ROLE

Dawn Ranch is looking to add a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to our groundskeeping team to help maintain our 22 stunning acres of parkland in the redwoods! Groundskeepers perform a variety of landscaping maintenance. They regularly mow lawns, weed, plant flowers, remove debris from property grounds, monitor and maintain irrigation equipment, and overall ensure the property is well-maintained and looks presentable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Empty trash, shovel, and perform maintenance or repair duties using saws, blowers, mowers, drills or other hand tools.
• Maintain property vehicles and equipment.
• Report all property maintenance issues and concerns identified while performing daily duties to manager.
• Ensure resort is presentable at all times.
• Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
• Ability to walk, including climbing stairs, ladders, stand to a significant degree, kneel, reach, bend, handle machinery, lift, feel, talk, hear, and see.

OTHER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pick-up trash and debris from common areas and streets on a daily basis. Empty common area trash containers as needed.
• Ensure lawns are manicured appropriately. Regularly treat weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and perform other lawn care services as necessary.
• If applicable, maintain hotel pool(s), testing chemical levels, adjusting appropriately.
• Safely operate vehicles for the purpose of performing job duties.
• Follow safety procedures while performing duties.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Education (some HS education required)
• Previous grounds keeping experience in the resort/hospitality industry, preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general grounds maintenance techniques
• Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
• Valid driver's license
• Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
