Develops library procedures and routines by planning daily activities
Establishes rules and procedures for circulation of materials
Creates an environment that is conducive to active and participatory learning, resource-based instructional practices, and collaboration with teaching staff
Shares with the learning community collaboratively developed and up-to-date district policies concerning such issues as materials selection, circulation, reconsideration of materials, copyright, privacy, and acceptable use
Encourages the use of instructional technology to engage students and to improve learning
Commits to remaining current in professional practices and developments, information technologies, and educational research
Collaborates with teachers and students to design and teach engaging inquiry and learning experiences and assessments that incorporate multiple literacies and foster critical thinking
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required certification: School Library-Media Specialist (062); Master's degree preferred.
Three years' successful experience in an urban setting preferred.
Experience in the use of educational technology.
Excellent oral and written communication and human relation skills.
Salary will be in accordance with the BEA contract salary schedule.
