Salary: $60,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience
Terrific Donations Specialist position with a large foundation committed to strengthening the communities of South Florida and furthering philanthropic initiatives across the country. This role will support the Finance team by managing all cash in transactions for donations to the organization and the portfolio of funds they manage. Donations come in various forms, including credit card transactions, checks, ACH and wires. The Donations Specialist will be an analytical position, responsible for monitoring banking platforms for daily transactions, posting donations to the correct funds, issuing tax acknowledgment letters, as well as maintaining data integrity for donor and transaction records. This role requires a high level of customer service and the ability to think analytically. Candidates should have approximately 3-5 years of related finance experience, ideally with time at a nonprofit. Bachelor's degree required. This position is based in the Miami area and operates on a hybrid schedule. The salary for this position is $60,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Own the identification and recording of all donations and other cash-in transactions from checks, stocks, wires, and credit card donations
  • Collaborate with Program Directors to ensure an accurate recording of receipts
  • Utilize banking platforms to monitor incoming transactions and deposit checks
  • Ensure data compliance and maintain donor records
  • Research transactions to ensure they are recorded and submitted to the proper fund
  • Audit transactions to eliminate duplicates or other errors
  • Submit gift acknowledgment letters
  • Provide recommendations for internal controls related to this position
  • Assist in the monthly close and annual audit processes
Qualifications:
  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant finance experience, ideally at a nonprofit organization
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Desire to own the process and identify areas for improvement
  • High level of customer service
  • Tech savvy and experience with various software
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
  • Excellent database management skills
  • Passion for the community
