Who You Are

The Sr. Accountant is an integral part of a growing accounting team and oversees general ledger accounting close processes (e.g., cash, investments, etc.). This position is an individual contributor and currently reports to the Accounting Manager. This position requires interaction with various business units and third-party contacts. A successful candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment, is highly organized, results-oriented, and analytical, has a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and is highly motivated to always deliver excellence in his or her work.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned general ledger (GL) accounts with emphasis on, but not limited to, cash, marketable securities, investments
• Manage daily cash activities including, but not limited to, daily cash flow positions and analysis of funding requirements
• Prepare wire templates, process weekly wire/ACH payments, and analyze and prepare cash funding, and execute fund transfers, among others
• Prepare cash position and investment reports, bank account reconciliations, general ledger account reconciliations, roll forward schedules, and other ad hoc treasury-related schedules/analyses
• Prepare fluctuation analysis on assigned GL accounts
• Prepare journal entries and related supporting work papers adhering to quality and compliance requirements
• Review and analyze , invoices, read contracts, and compare/ reconcile data to POs, budgets and/or work orders, as needed, in order to determine the appropriate journal entries
• Prepare audit and tax requested PBC schedules, confirmations and address follow up items
• Compliance with SOX requirements—ensure control procedures are executed and workpaper documentations are SOX compliant; prepare all required data and analysis to support external audit, internal control and SOX testing requests, among others
• Collaborate, liaise and assist other accounting team members, as needed

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

• Degree in accounting. CPA preferred
• 3 years of general accounting or audit-related experience
• Biotech experience a plus
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
