Brewe Layman is Hiring an Administrative Clerk Near Everett, WA

Our attorneys have “seen it all” when it comes to Family Law and that’s why we have developed a unique team-based approach to servicing our clients. The ideal candidate will be a team player. This role requires a motivated candidate with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys and paralegals on an as-needed basis with various projects. This includes but is not limited to assembling binders for trial/mediation/arbitration, organizing files, scanning documents, and preparing exhibits.
  • Assist with drafting, e-filing, and reviewing pleadings.
  • Organize and draft correspondence, discovery, and other documents.
  • Conduct research.
  • Printing and tracking outgoing postage.
  • Collaborating on administrative tasks with other team members.
  • E-recording documents.
  • Creating new client files.
  • Closing client files, digitally and physically. Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Overseeing office needs across multiple offices; making in office deliveries across multiple floors on a regular basis.
  • Take incoming calls from potential new clients and run conflict checks.
  • Office maintenance: replacing lightbulbs, wiping down the countertops, locking the building at EOD, along with other operational tasks.
  • Post office pickup and delivery daily. Mileage is reimbursed.
  • Reception support: Answering phones, routing calls, taking messages, conducting follow-up calls, corresponding with court as needed, managing calendar appointments, setting up zoom meetings, greeting clients in office, and confirming hearings.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be adaptable.
  • Mental and emotional agility - family law can be complicated and emotional; it is important to be empathic to our clients.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Responsive, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Tactful demeanor and interpersonal skills.

Hard skills:

  • Computer savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred experience with legal case management systems software such as TABS3, NetDocuments, and SupportCalc.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively demonstrating flexibility while supporting multiple staff members.
  • High level of ethics, discretion, and reliability.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
