YOUR LIFE AS A RESTAURANT SERVER / FOOD SERVICE ASSOCIATE

This full- or part-time customer service position with our restaurant works a flexible schedule from Tuesday to Sunday, 4 PM to 10 PM.

As a Restaurant Server / Food Service Associate with our hospitality team, you play an essential role in providing exceptional customer service to those who dine with us. You acknowledge every guest who enters our restaurant, anticipate their needs, and provide beverage and food service in a prompt manner. When serving alcohol, you check the IDs of our younger guests and assist customers with drink selections. You stay current with our menu options as well as suggest daily specials and menu deviations to our guests.

After taking your customer's orders, you enter them into a point-of-sale system and communicate specific needs to the cooks through our food expeditors. You then inform customers about any important food preparation details. To maintain a proper dining experience, you deliver items in an acceptable time frame, refill drinks, replenish utensils, remove courses, and offer desserts. You make sure that silverware and glassware remain well-stocked and polished for customer use. When serving wine or champagne, you use proper wine etiquette and the correct tools to open bottles.

In addition, you monitor the cleanliness of our restaurant and make sure that everything is properly sanitized and organized for the safety of both customers and employees. As needed, you chop up garnishes such as lemon and parsley as well as make condiments. You then make sure all items are properly stored and dated. Once guests are finished with their meal, you present the check and collect payment. You follow proper cash handling and credit policies, issue receipts, and return the correct change.

You always make sure to complete the server checkout and all closing reports before leaving the restaurant at the end of your shift. Whether you're assisting with special events or filling in for an absent staff member, you're always up for any task that comes your way. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU AS A RESTAURANT SERVER / FOOD SERVICE ASSOCIATE

• At least 21 years old
• 3 years of upscale or fine dining food service experience
• California food handler's certification
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification
• Excellent customer service skills
• Basic math skills
