JOB DESCRIPTION – COMPUTER TECH I
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Computer Tech I will support students and staff with technology and will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain computers and peripherals.
Reports to and evaluated by: Technology Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and maintain all desktop/laptop computers and peripherals.
Assure that all computer labs are ready for teacher use on a daily basis.
Support online administrative software, such as Skyward, Citrix, and Educator Access Plus.
Install and upgrade software; prepare computer images for deployment.
Collaborate with Technology Supervisor on District-level support projects.
Attend monthly meetings as scheduled by the Technology Supervisor.
Attend related District in-service training sessions.
Assist District technology staff with the deployment of network hardware devices.
Operate and maintain work order system.
Identify network and server-related issues and advance to appropriate District-level support.
Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience working with computers.
Knowledge of computer software to be used, including word processing skills.
Ability to work within assigned guidelines with minimal supervision.
Ability to be flexible to meet needs of overall school operations.
Ability to identify hardware and software problems, prioritize, and troubleshoot.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability work effectively under pressure and stress.
Ability to move or carry objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Ability to crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel to service computers and network equipment.
Licenses, Certificates & Special Requirements:
A Certification preferred.
Valid Washington State Driver's License and good driving record.
