Bread & Friends is hiring Front of House Team Members! We are currently looking for folks experienced in service environments to work as servers during our existing busy brunch service, as well as for our new expansion into dinner service.

About B&F:

• Bread & Friends is a bakery and restaurant on Fore Street, in the Old Port neighborhood of Portland; our mission is to foster community through delicious food that is meant to be shared. At brunch, we specialize in naturally leavened bread, artisan pastry, and an elevated dining menu, which is complemented by a craft coffee program in collaboration with Bolt Coffee Co. At dinner, we feature an elevated menu meant to be shared, and a low ABV cocktail list, wine & beer.
• Bread & Friends is open for brunch Thursday - Monday, 8AM - 1PM, and will be open for dinner Thursday - Sunday, 5PM - 8:30PM. We are currently seeking both part-time servers for dinner shifts from 3:15PM - 10:30PM.

• Base pay of $17-$20/hour plus tips for all positions, DOE. B&F is a fully pooled house where all hourly employees participate equally in the tip pool and are tipped out by the hour for their associated shift (the dinner tip pool and brunch tip pool are separate).

Position duties include:

• Create and maintain a hospitable atmosphere for all guests.
• Execute service in a timely and hospitable manner.
• Maintain a deep knowledge of the menu and be a guide and resource for guests on the ingredients, purveyors, cooking/baking techniques, etc. that are used on our menus.
• Able and willing to work multiple positions (server, bar), with the ability to evolve during service to allocate your efforts where they are most needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including all guest-facing areas, dining room, coffee bar area, server station, and restrooms.

Qualifications:

• Ability to multitask, work in a team environment, and communicate efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain a calm and friendly demeanor in a fast paced, high volume environment.
• Can meet physical demands of position including pulling, pushing, carrying and lifting up to 50lbs, and standing for extended periods of time.
• 1 year of restaurant experience preferred.
