*1. Coordinates all required Resident Assessment Instruments (RAI) per state and federal regulations to ensure timely completions.
*2. Timely, accurate completion of all aspects of nursing portions of required RAIs.
*3. Timely transmission of all required RAIs per state and federal regulations.
*4. Maintenance of an RAI calendar, accessible to members of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), which provides clear, concise, up-to-date information on completion deadlines for each phase of the RAI process for each applicable resident.
*5. Mentoring and teaching nursing and ancillary staff to ensure that all team members are aware of and competent in their roles in the RAI and Prospective Payment System (PPS) processes.
*6. Maintaining smooth, seamless, timely communication with billing, regarding resident’s Medicare status and RUG categories.
*7. Notification to the Charge Nurse of any barriers to timely, accurate completion and transmission of RAIs in order to prevent missing any deadlines.
*8. Monitoring of ancillary department sections of the RAI for timely completion, including notification of the individual departments if deadlines are in danger of not being met by the departments.
*9. Make frequent rounds to ensure care delivery meets quality assurance standards and restorative protocols.
*10. Can perform duties as outlined for nursing assistants; able to teach and correct nursing assistants’ daily duties as needed.
*11. Assesses resident’s responses to treatments/medications, response or lack of progress toward care plan or restorative goal.
*12. Conducts staff in-services for identified concerns.
*13. Completion of resident Admission Assessment, Quarterly, Annual and Significant Change of Condition to include Fall risk (update fall assessment after each fall), Braden Scale, Pain Assessment, AIMS, Elopement.
*14. Ensure Monthly Resident Summaries are complete.
*15. Care Plan incidents, infections, and other changes of condition.
*16. On- call phone as scheduled x 7 days.
*17. Attends and participates in scheduled in-service programs and monthly staff meetings with Director of Nursing Services.
*18. Maintains confidentiality of necessary information.
*19. Utilizes supplies and equipment properly and without waste.
*20. Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job.
*21. Responsible for keeping current license and required CEU’s.
