Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Per-Diem Dietitian to join our team at The Brattleboro Retreat in Brattleboro, VT. The Brattleboro Retreat is 103-bed non-profit mental health hospital that provides inpatient services to pediatric, adolescent and adult population.
As a Dietitian, you will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their health and wellness goals through evidence-based nutrition counseling and training. Functions as a nutrition resource to assigned patient care areas, developing peers, and food services staff to ensure the provision of safe, high quality care. Maintains professional and business practices to assure regulatory compliance and to uphoald company mission and values. Ability to apply general clinical knowledge, skills behaviors & values safely and reliably with minimal guidance from peer experts & supervisors.

Responsibilities:
- Execute the Nutrition Care Process (assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, monitoring and evaluation) for general clinical practice.
- Provides evidence-based nutrition counseling and training to meet basic clinical needs, promote disease management, educate healthcare personnel, interns and students on nutrition cares strategies and support foodservice staff competency
- Offers input into development and enhancement of learning activities and education resources and initiates referrals as needed to elevated care, support continuation of nutrition care plans or elevate education processes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients
achieve their nutrition goals.
- Maintain CDR status and state licensure.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Registered Dietitian (RD) certification
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and the impact of nutrition on health
- Experience working with diverse patient populations, including those with chronic conditions or special dietary needs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively educate and motivate patients
