Summary: Cash Application Specialist performs daily cash management duties for the company accurately within the Accounts Receivable system.

Job Responsibilities

• Verify remittance amounts and details.
• Identify and flag unapplied cash to appropriate customers.
• Quickly and accurately apply cash receipts to customer accounts via data entry per remittance detail.
• Daily and monthly bank and AR detail reporting and balancing.
• Post credit card payments, wire transfers, and ACH credits.
• Research unapplied credit memos, short paid invoices, and other reconciliation items and clear as necessary.
• Research accounts for refunds and submit requests to AP for check processing.
• Deposit checks to appropriate banks.
• Check scanning to the bank lockbox for review and posting.
• Monitor and review the Cash Receipts mailbox.
• Assist Billing & Collections with customer inquiries related to payments.
• Assist with audit requests.
• Additional clerical and accounting duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in cash application experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel) and experience with Intellidealer software a plus
• Strong attention to detail with a dedication to accuracy
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships with external clients and internal departments.
• Familiarity with accounting functions.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Must be able to climb stairs and lift 20 lbs. unaided.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
