Brailsford & Dunlavey is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager- CIG Near Washington, DC

Position Purpose

This position fulfills a coordination role in support of Brailsford & Dunlavey client-based major planning, design, and construction programs.

B&D’s Communications & Public Engagement Practice Group specializes in strategic communication and outreach planning and execution, multimedia coordination, and major public event planning. The Group seeks a CPE Coordinator who is interested in gaining a plethora of skills and experience supporting programs ranging from major public school capital design and construction programs to university-based energy and sustainability plan development to affordable housing surveying and program development. This position is intended to support clients in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Additional opportunities may arise for the CPE Coordinator to work with clients in the general DMV area.

The CPE Coordinator’s primary role is to assist the CPE Manager in the development, refinement, and/or implementation of services provided to clientele. All aspect of a client’s communications plan: messaging, website management, collateral material design, photo/video documentation, engagement support, and public event planning is managed by the CPE Manager with the assistance of the CPE Coordinator.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of the Program’s Strategic Communications Plan and brand. Ensure all messaging, collateral materials, and presentations that meet the Program’s brand style-guide.
  • Coordinate the development of a social media schedule and content bank. Track social media analytics and set goals for increasing program awareness, driving traffic to the Program website, and boosting engagement.
  • Assist with the development and/ or management of the Program website to include content such as community meeting and public event notifications, homepage highlights, committee meeting dates and minutes, local hire updates, etc.
  • Assist with the collection and copyediting of content for program reports, press releases, articles, presentations, etc.
  • Support the client’s existing Engagement Team or assist B&D’s CPE Manager in developing a Program Engagement Plan.
  • Provide community engagement-related communications supports such as meeting logistics (securing meeting venues, setting up meeting platforms, sending out community meeting notifications, coordinating the translation of community meeting materials).
  • Assist with the design a variety of program materials and documents including flyers, signage, social media announcements, postcards, mailers, letters, and reports.
  • Assist with the design of wayfinding and temporary building signage.
  • Assist the CPE Manager with securing vendors to provide photography and videography services and coordinate the labeling and archiving of final images.
  • Assist with recording and editing short community outreach-related videos, as needed, and take photographs at events and meetings.
  • Coordinate program-related major public events, i.e., groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and public forums. Assist with securing vendors, coordinate tours, manage event staff, communicate with media liaisons, and ensure organized setup and cleanup of event spaces.
  • Maintain inventories of materials and equipment i.e., public event materials and equipment and time capsules.
  • Participate in B&D CPE business planning sessions as well as required B&D trainings and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications or marketing-related field.
  • Minimum of three years coordinating communications projects, as well as multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Google Drive, Google Forms, Google Pages, etc.
  • Proficiency with graphic design software including Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
  • Experience with website content management.
  • Experience with social media content management.
  • Experience using photography and video equipment.
  • Experience with video editing software including Final Cut Pro or similar software.
  • Experience with community-based engagement preferred.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity, knowledge and understanding of individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, gender identity, cultural, disability and ethical backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Proven adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive within a team structure.
