Job Summary

Full time Shop & Field mechanic needed. Must be able to diagnose and repair both Air Brake and Electrical Light problems as well as perform 90 Day and DOT inspections. Successful applicants must be able to work independently as well as take instruction and direction from the service manager. 2 years Truck and Trailer mechanical experience preferred. This is a Full time job, 12:00p to 8:30p shift.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Diagnose and repair Truck and Trailer Brake and Electrical systems.
• Inspect Equipment following CA. BIT Inspection as well as Federal DOT criteria.
• Ability to drive equipment from a parked position to in-house shop for repairs.
• Sets a positive example in punctuality and professional demeanor by respectful communication with all levels of staff, keeping work areas clean and orderly, and promoting safety regulations and all other company programs.
• Maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ recommended maintenance procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complete service reports, timecards, and parts requisitions accurately and in a timely manner. Report all non-routine finds and deficiencies immediately to the service manager.
• Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least two years of experience as technician on Trucks and Trailers.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Post-offer drug test conducted, as well as random drug testing while employed.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Possess the necessary tools.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. repeatedly.
• Must be able to work outside in various weather elements.
• Must be capable of reporting repeatedly on time, ready to work as scheduled.
• Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends or on call duty as needed.

Physical requirements

• Physically able to work on heavy/diesel equipment.
• Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Will be required to work in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on time of year.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, squatting, crawling, or climbing.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
