SUMMARY: The primary duties for this position will be supporting the contracting and sales teams by performing design of complex mechanical systems for design-build projects. This will include identifying potential opportunities and providing technical support throughout the sales process. This entails assisting with qualification, providing scope support through the design phase, technical assistance needed to close orders and complete project design and development on select projects under contract.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BSME or similar engineering degree required; minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience in the building automation, electrical, and HVAC industry, with field experience strongly preferred. Financial budgeting, planning and administration skills are required.
COMPUTER SKILLS: MS Office, AutoCAD, MS Excel required. Experience with ProCore is desirable.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Professional Engineering License (PE) in the state of North Carolina is required, Professional Engineering License in the state of South Carolina is preferred but not required. Valid driver's license is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, equipment specifications, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, policies, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, engineering economics, and other advanced mathematical concepts to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. This position works in a typical office environment with occasional visits to job sites, which include outdoor work and work in mechanical/equipment rooms. During the job site visits, the associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
