Our System Engineer supports all stakeholders of the firm to ensure stability, integrity and efficient operation of network systems that support the core functions of the firm. This includes ensuring reliable network operations, troubleshooting, and resolving network issues, testing new technologies, monitoring of systems, and assisting with technology planning.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Install, monitor, and support all network infrastructures and topologies.
Continual review and enhancement of the networks ensuring optimal function.
Testing, evaluating, and proposing recommendations on best practices regarding implementation and rollout of new technologies.
Drafts checklists, processes, and knowledge base entries for help desk and other team members.
Analyze network load including traffic and utilization trends.
Maintains record of hardware and software deployments to ensure optimal deployment of resources.
Assists in licensing compliance reviews.
Assisting with the deployment of systems, patching, and updating of systems.
Provide technical support to and training of firm IT admins as needed.
Provide status updates on projects and participate in team meetings.
Stay current on new and emerging technologies that may benefit the firm.
Direct and indirect support to end users firmwide.
Involvement in the technical planning of the firm’s current and future infrastructure.
Assist with third-party security assessments and related hardening.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience preferred.
3-5 years of experience in IT support preferred.
Advanced networking skills preferred include working knowledge of Azure, SonicWALL, and Aruba.
Working knowledge of SQL Server, hypervisors, backup solutions and automation tools are preferred.
