Description

Teton Petroleum Transport (TPT) is currently seeking a Mechanic. This role will provide daily preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet of trucks and trailers. TPT delivers fuel to over 40 states for a variety of customers and industries.

The Mechanic will primarily be focused on:

• Perform PM inspections and make necessary repairs on trucks and trailers.

• Keep all assigned vehicle maintenance files current including all DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on transport vehicles.

• Perform or coordinate emergency maintenance, breakdown repairs on fleet vehicles.

• Repair work on brakes, axle, electrical, air system, suspension, tank trailer safety systems such as Scully and Civacon overfill protection systems.

• Perform routine brake inspections/adjustments on commercial vehicles following federal DOT requirements.

• Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for work performed.

• Coordinate with location supervisor and review pre-trip truck inspections to prioritize work accordingly.

• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.

• Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.

The preferred candidate for the Mechanic will have the following:

• One or more years tanker mechanic experience.

• Ability to troubleshoot trailer ABS using Wabco software.

• Ability to repair overfill protection systems.

• Possess a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.

• Acceptable driving record.

• Must be able to perform suspension, brake repairs, wheel seals, electrical lighting installation and repairs, reconditioning valves, pneumatic systems.

• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and methods necessary to complete tasks.
