Site Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Site Supervisor
SUPERVISOR: Programs Director
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full Time
HOURS: 35-40 hrs per week Hours vary and include some weekends and evenings.
Pay: $26-$28.00/hour Depending on experience and education

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Programs Director, the Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing overall daily operations of a Club under the control of the organization with the primary concern for a comprehensive, outcome-driven program and service delivery, supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), personnel issues, management of a facility, manages budget, community relations, volunteers and membership administration.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership

  • Establish Club programs, activities and services that prepare youth for success and that create a club environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained
  • Allocate and monitor work assigned to program volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal. Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned volunteers and staff

Strategic Planning

  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Club overall programs, services and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests. Compile regular reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation

Resource Management

  • Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues
  • Ensure productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and 1:1 meetings

Marketing and Public Relations

  • Increase visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers and media releases
  • Develop partnerships with parents, community leaders and organizations
  • Relationships
  • Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
  • External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members’ parents and others to assist in resolving problems & promote the Club’s community presence.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Purchase or approve purchase of supplies and equipment
  • Work with staff on special events
  • Exercise authority in problems relating to members; utilize guidance and discipline plan
  • Other duties as assigned
  • The club will exercise the right to assign you to work from different club sites or locations as necessary

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required
  • Four-year degree in related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people
  • Demonstrate ability in personnel supervision, facility management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to train, supervise, and motivate staff
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (to be arranged if not current); pass background checks

Preferred
Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Skills in fund-raising events

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend frequently
  • Ability to sit and write/type as needed
