Opportunity Overview: Summer Camp Staff
A Summer Camp Staff supports Club Leadership in providing an Outcome Driven Club Experience in a variety of programming areas including: Gym, Games Room, Learning Center, Computer Lab, Kitchen, Club Entry, and other targeted programming areas. The majority of responsibilities are working directly with youth, ensuring their safety, well-being and development through interactive play and other activities as directed.
The Summer Camp Staff are self-motivated, mature, energetic, and able to maintain clear and healthy boundaries with club members, parents and staff; able to communicate and interact with youth in a way that is age appropriate, motivational and positive in nature. The Summer Camp Staff must be flexible, have the ability to adapt to a work environment which changes often, must remain calm and solve problems in stressful situations. The Summer Camp Staff must anticipate and implement all elements of activities in an organized fashion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Internal: Maintain close, daily positive contact with club staff, volunteers, club members, and supervisor. Attend staff meetings.
External: Maintain a good reputation and moral conduct outside of work, in the community and on social media networks.

Requirements for staff applying to Licensed Program Sites:
BGCKC Summer Programming Details: Camp season runs June 18th-August 24th (start dates vary by location) with trainings for some positions beginning in early June.
HOURS: Seasonal positions. Hours vary depending on program need. Shifts range from 9am-5pm.
HOURLY RATE: $20-$23/hr, depending on location and experience
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt Position

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position works in an office, and the noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, i.e. copier toner.

Police responded to the incident and looked for an answer to the overall issue of juvenile crime and vandalism, a growing problem in the community. In response, Deputy Joe Woelfert opened the first Boys & Girls Club (originally called the Boys Club) in Washington Statethe North Seattle Boys & Girls Club. The Club was a great success, and within two years, eight Clubs sprouted up in the area. Today there are 14 Clubs around King County, each one focused on enriching the lives of kids every day.
