Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley is Hiring a Group Leader Near Milford, NH

This is a part-time / non-exempt position (approx. 10-15 hours per week).

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The School Age Group Leader is responsible for ensuring a quality afterschool experience for our youngest members. They must be enthusiastic, dependable and have a passion for working with children. The position's key function is to supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children as individuals and as a group. Group Leaders are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the classroom and members they are assigned too. Duties include but are not limited to assisting children with homework, planning, and organizing creative activities for their group each day.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

● Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants in the program, by providing appropriate supervision at all times.

● Plan and implement meaningful activities and lesson plans that are age-appropriate, exciting, challenging, and based in the areas of academics, STEAM, character development, community service, physical fitness, and healthy lifestyles.

● Prepare the learning environment, lessons, and necessary supplies for program activities.

● Support the coordination and presentation of a culminating performance or presentation at the end of the program cycle for members’ families.

● Provide support to the Program Site Director with activity implementation.

● Assist children with homework and academic enhancement activities.

● Work cooperatively with program and school staff.

● Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all participants.

● Create and maintain a strength-based, youth-focused atmosphere that is consistent and sensitive to the needs of participants with learning, emotional, or behavioral differences.

● Serve as a positive role model for participants.

● Maintain accurate program documentation (attendance, sign in/out forms, behavior/incident/accident reports, as appropriate).

● Adhere to all Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

● Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings and special events.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May participate in and/or lead special programs and/or events.

2. May be required to drive a Club van.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

● Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field

● Proficient in Microsoft suite

● Knowledge of youth development.

● CPR and First Aid Certifications a plus.

● Driver’s license with 5-year clean driving record (required)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • After school
  • Monday to Friday
