TITLE: Center Director
Pay Range: $17 - $24 per hour
REPORTS TO: Chief Operating Officer
Job Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Directs/manages overall daily operations of the designated site with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration. The director is responsible for the promotion of the social, physical, and intellectual growth of the children under his/her care; in addition to ensuring the safety and security of a fidelity of the early learning center.
KEY ROLES:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the educational institution
Inspire and lead a team of educators and staff members
Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and community members
Maintains child records
Maintains staff files, records of training, etc. for KDHE licensing requirements
Understanding of Center License
Display maturity and good judgment in emergency situations
Ability to professionally communicate with staff, families, and vendors
Oversee a diverse team of specialists to nurture - Safety, Curriculum and Nutrition
Promote the positive image of the company and play a major role in making the company a provider of choice in educational programs for the communities that we service.
Tour and Recruit new families
Effectively communicate the mission, vision and values of the BGC MHK
Attend BGC staff meetings, one-on-ones with supervisor, community meetings and trainings as required
Assist in implementing quality curriculum
Assist in the development of training of staff and implementation of behavior response instruction and behavioral plans, as assigned, to assist higher need situations to reduce behaviors
Assist with resource development and family connections
Administer standards of behavior and discipline to ensure the safety and well-being of students
Oversee proper record keeping and reporting, including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of participation figures, and any member conduct or other issues.
Conducts fire and tornado drills monthly.
Maintains the Member Tracking System

Knowledge and Skills:
Required:
Demonstrated ability in working with children, parents and community leaders
Must have previous management experience and at least 1 year of experience working in a licensed child care facility.
Education requirements must match state requirements to be considered Director Qualified for center greater than 100 children per KDHE requirements
Knowledge of youth development
Must meet state requirements to be considered Director Qualified for center greater than 100 children per KDHE requirements
Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems
Ability to deal with the general public (both verbal and written)
Ability to supervise and motivate staff
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in Youth Development, Elementary/Secondary Education or similar degree.
Supervisory experience.
CPR and First Aid Certifications (training provided)
Proficiency in word processing and creative computer software applications
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Working in a KDHE licensed facility, you may be required to lift and carry children, have close contact with children, Stoop/bend, walk up and down stairs, Drive a vehicle, evacuate children in an emergency, and supervise children/ engage in childcare activities.

Serving ages 5K-18 years of age, the Club offers a wide variety of educational, recreational and social programs and gives youth the opportunities for personal growth and achievement.
