Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside is looking for a creative and social media savvy individual to join the team on a full-time basis as a Communications Coordinator. This position will involve working collaboratively with the entire team in order to create a detailed communication plan, including a social media strategy, marketing plan, brand awareness campaigns, and all collateral for events.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Identify and create opportunities to build public awareness of Club services, programs and

activities. Adapt or create messages and designs for promoting upcoming events or

programs to the public and members, including newsletters, press releases, flyers, etc.

Evaluate success of strategy, materials and media and modify as necessary. Assist with

fundraising through marketing campaigns and special events. Work closely with program and

management staff to determine potential audiences and best approaches.

Marketing Support:

• Implement a detailed communication and marketing plan.
• Prepare a social media strategy with a calendar of timelines.
• Work with the local media to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside.
• Assist in the development of marketing materials, and other collateral pertaining to

specific campaigns or events.

• Assist in monitoring active marketing programs and develop ways to improve those

campaigns.

• Support Resource Development department in organizing and execution of projects and events.
• Experience using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, and Tiktok to support Club activities and outreach.
• Co-create marketing pieces for website, direct mail and print use.

• Manage the organization’s media relations including news, press releases, and media-related events.

Graphic Design Support:

• Prepares layouts, designs, and formats for use in publications.
• Prepares layouts and scales photographs, marking them for proper screen values for

print reproduction.

• Designs posters and other artwork from oral or written instructions.
• Amends designs after feedback.
• May assist in video, photography, editing and publication research duties.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Performs related job duties as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. May participate in special programs and/or events.
2. May be required to drive Club van.
3. May work an occasional Saturday to support events.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• College Degree or equivalent
• Experience in marketing, public relations and/or fundraising events.
• Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Skills in graphic design, Photo Shop, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and Canva.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and be attentive to details.
• Knowledge of online social media and website design

• Ability to maintain good relations with peers and general public
