Job Summary

The BoxFab Technician 2 will weld and fabricate production machinery as well as modify and maintain factory equipment and products.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Be able to operate basic machinery in the shop such as welders, grinders and saws.
• Build weldments to printed tolerances.
• TIG and MIG welding.
• Plasma cutting.
• Grinding.
• Mechanical assembly of components.
• Assist other Factory members when needed, where needed within a specific skillset.
• Report tool supply levels.
• Operate a forklift.
• Operate a mechanical lathe.
• Review and monitor material stock levels.

Experience and Education

• Proven experience understanding basic metal fabrication including reading and building to prints.
• Welding certifications required.
• Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components.
• Aptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers).
• Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
• A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines.
• Very good communication skills.
• Problem-solving ability.
