Purpose

Set the strategic direction of the University Relations program and manage full life cycle recruiting initiatives and activities for campus hires from select colleges and universities. 

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution. Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Oversee and execute the campus strategy, from recruiting activities, fostering university relationships, building, and marketing the brand and image on campus, and providing potential candidates with guidance on the recruitment process.
  • Work in partnership with others in the organization, create and promote Bowman's employment brand and employee value proposition.

Do the Work

  • Develop, enhance and maintain the annual college recruiting program, as well as intern and Co-Op recruiting strategies and use of firm ambassadors, including budget preparation and goals for selected schools.
  • Collect all internship and co-op requests from hiring managers and work with HR Business Partners to identify accurate open requisitions.
  • Recruit top talent to fill intern, co-ops, and entry level/early career requisitions.
  • Source, screen, interview, evaluate/rank and present candidates to move forward in the interview process.
  • Use applicant tracking system to upload all intern and co-op requisitions and close out upon filling each request.
  • Prepare initial immigration questionnaires and monitor continued work authorization status.
  • Schedule and lead debrief calls with the hiring teams for candidate selection and participate in weekly update meetings.
  • Manage the candidate new hire experience: onboarding, hiring manager satisfaction, assessments, and other UR/recruiting metrics.
  • Participate in and/or lead related campus projects outside of core recruiting cycle.
  • Conduct exit interviews and collect/analyze data to improve program.
  • Communicate detailed company policies and procedures as well as develop best practice Intern policies.
  • Make positive candidate experience a priority.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in human resources, communications, business administration, or related field.
  • Five or more (5 ) years of progressive professional experience in full life-cycle campus recruiting/university relations. Prior experience in AEC industry is highly desired.
  • Must be located in Eastern or Central Time Zone. 
  • Two or more (2 ) years of leadership experience required.
  • Deep understanding of academic institutions and curriculums, and existing relationships with colleges and universities.
  • Strong project management skills, including event planning.
  • Excellent MS Office skills.
  • Travel required - up to 50% during Fall and Spring recruiting seasons.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and event management platforms; UKG and iCIMS preferred.
  • Familiarity with OFCCP compliance in relation to recruitment and employment requirements desired.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
  • Primarily indoor professional office environment which may include bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.
  • Mobility around an office environment.
  • Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
