Bourbon County School District is Hiring a Bourbon County High School Assistant Principal Near Paris, KY

QUALIFICATIONS: As set by State Certification Authorities

REPORTS TO: School Principal

SUPERVISES: Certified and Classified staff as assigned

JOB GOAL: To assist the principal in the administration and suspension of all activities and personnel within the school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Proposes schedules of classes and extracurricular activities.
  2. Supervises the preparation of student schedules.
  3. Works with department heads, faculty groups, the coaches and athletic director in compiling annual budget requests.
  4. Approves purchase requests for the athletic department.
  5. Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintains inventories, records, and checks on receipts for such materials and follow up with the Central Office.
  6. Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill activities.
  7. Assumes responsibilities of coordinating transportation, custodial cafeteria and other support services.
  8. Supervises the reporting and monitoring of student attendance and works with the attendance supervisor for investigative follow-up actions.
  9. Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body and deals with special cases as necessary.
  10. Serves with parents, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objective.
  11. Performs such other and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may assign from time to time.
  12. Assumes responsibility as principal directs in textbook accountability.
  13. Supervises at scheduled extracurricular events and assures the building is in proper condition and that extra assistance is assigned as required.
  14. Monitors restrooms, halls, lunchroom and parking lot during class changes and lunch and makes periodic checks throughout the day.
  15. Works with teachers, students and principal in promoting respect for property and assists in keeping the buildings and grounds in excellent conditions at all times. Completes inspections as directed by the Principal.
  16. Assumes responsibility for operation of school in the absence of the principal.
  17. Assists principal with class observations, evaluations and curriculum improvement activities, as directed by the principal.
  18. Schedules parent/student conferences during summer.
  19. Make home visits during summer.
  20. Coordinates custodial duties and summer maintenance schedules.
  21. Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten, eleven or twelve month year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel.
