Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Engineer and Power System Planners, assist with locating, marking, staking, and mapping of the power system.

Essential Job Functions:

· Perform underground locations of electrical facilities based on Blue Stakes requests.

· Meet with excavators as needed.

· Document and report dig-ins for billing purposes.

· Assist Engineer and Power System Planners with field staking and surveying for layout of distribution projects and underground locations as needed for assigned projects.

· Must carry a cell phone and be available for after-hours callout.

· Perform other duties of a like or lesser grade as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must have basic knowledge of computers.

Be able to read emails, instructions, ticket descriptions, and manuals.

Write emails and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.

Must be able to deal with various kinds of people and to communicate both verbally and in writing with good language skills.

Requires working in sometimes stressful, high-pressure situations.

Regular attendance at work is expected.

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality concerning information learned while performing the duties of the job.

Must be able to work effectively on individual or team projects.

Must be able to distinguish and work with colors.

This position requires occasional after-hours work.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires some medium physical effort. It may include frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Some bending, stooping and/or lifting will be required. May require significant amounts of walking or standing in all types of weather and conditions. Driving, talking, walking, and hearing.

Qualifications:

This is an entry level position

Must be at least 18 years old

High School diploma or equivalent

Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License

Successfully pass a background check, a driving record check, and a pre-employment drug test

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $20.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
