Part-Time Farmers Market Event Coordinator

Salary Range: $18.00 per hour

Position Type: Seasonal, approximately 8 hours per week

Thursdays from 1 pm to 9 pm (June 20 – October 17)

Overview:

Serves as the primary on-site representative for Bountiful City at each weekly Bountiful Farmers Market to complete on-site tasks required of the event; as well as provide support and assistance to vendors and guests.

Essential Job Functions:

Attends the weekly Bountiful Farmers Market each Thursday beginning June 20th through October 17th.

Responsible for setting up before the market with signage, information booth, and cleared parking spaces.

Monitors the market and information booth during market hours.

Manages vendor sign-ins and verifies they are set up in the correct assigned spot.

Oversees vendors arriving, parking, setting up, and clean up.

Observes the market and provides assistance as needed to vendors and guests, answers questions and resolves any conflicts.

Observes general market activity to support a friendly, safe, and inviting atmosphere for the market.

Potential to assist market managers with generating and monitoring content for social media channels.

Job is performed outside and is subject to the elements; heat, cold, and wet conditions.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:

· Available to attend each market every Thursday beginning June 20th through October 17th.

· Ability to communicate in a friendly and courteous manner to vendors and guests.

· Ability to manage 10-20 pounds in setting up large canopies, tables, and signage.

· Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.

· Problem solving skills to assess any day-of issues and help the market run smoothly.

· Commitment to contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe atmosphere for the market.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years old

Sufficient education to demonstrate aptitude or ability to perform above related duties

Bountiful resident preferred, but not required

Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License

Successfully pass a background check, a driving record check, and a pre-employment drug test
