Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse looking for an exciting role in perioperative care? Our orthopedics practice is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team. As a PACU & Pre-Operative RN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate treatment processes and plans with patients and families to build trust and gain cooperation.
• Provide patient education tailored to individual needs for optimal preparation and post-operative care.
• Direct patient care according to physician orders, including assessing responses to treatment and recognizing adverse reactions.
• Maintain patient awareness, including comfort, pain relief, and infection prevention.
• Verify patient identification, understanding of procedures, and correct procedure details before proceeding.
• Communicate patient care details verbally and in writing, including assessments and progress updates.
• Prepare patients for surgery based on physician preferences and patient needs.
• Practice hand hygiene and infection prevention measures consistently.
• Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities.
• Protect patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA standards.
• Perform other assigned responsibilities.

Skills:

• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Ability to assess patient needs and respond in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and post-operative care protocols.
• Critical thinking skills to recognize significant conditions and adverse reactions.

Education:

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year accredited School of Nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree (B.S.) from a four-year accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license from the State Board of Nursing.
• Current BCLS certification, or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Current ACLS certification, or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Current PALS certification (if pediatric population served), or obtain within 3 months of hire.
