Graduation Plus School TOSAs are school-based leaders who are trained, supported, and responsible for engaging their school community in opportunities related to the four core quadrants of BVSD’s Graduation Plus plan.
This position is the "hub" or connector between the district-level Grad Plus Leadership Team and the school. This position is responsible for sharing information pertaining to student goals related to Graduation Plus with staff and students and will collect related data at their designated high school(s).
This work requires an understanding of student desires, strengths, needs, and barriers to accessing Grad Plus opportunities.
The TOSAs will collaborate with the school counselors and administrators to develop and implement plans to ensure all students set, evaluate, and modify goals related to Graduation Plus and to align school systems with district systems and expectations.
These positions are funded for three years with the expectation that after three years, efficient systems and structures are in place for Grad Plus functions to continue without this additional FTE.
Responsibilities :
- Helping students understand and develop the academic, professionalism, and career experience requirements for each Graduation Plus option.
- Providing assistance to students in preparation for their transition from high school into their postgraduate option of choice.
- Identifying students from marginalized groups who are strong candidates for advanced coursework or college before graduation and supporting them in enrolling and persisting in these rigorous learning experiences.
- Developing processes to ensure each student’s Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) reflects student interests and strengths.
- Collaborating with high school and middle school counselors to develop a middle school career exploration program.
- Participating in the decision of what courses to offer at their school related to career pathways.
- Working collaboratively with the Work-Based Learning Coordinator to help identify and maintain apprenticeships, internships, career and technical programs and / or part-time jobs that selected high school students may participate in, depending on their strengths, aptitudes and interests.
- Working collaboratively with the College Before Graduation Coordinator and institutions of higher education, particularly Front Range Community College, to explore, develop and provide educational opportunities for identified students.
- Working with the Director of Career and College Connections and the BVSD Career and Technical Education teachers to identify and support access to industry certifications across all applicable career paths.
- Communicating effectively with the educational community and parents / guardians on a regular basis.

- Maintaining quality partnerships with secondary school personnel in collaboration with the Director of Career and College Connections.
- Work with the district College Before Graduation Coordinator to identify and support implementation of advanced coursework within student pathways.
- Provide outreach to students underrepresented in Graduation Plus opportunities.
- Engage students, counselors, faculty, parents, and all other stakeholders with information sessions related to career and college preparatory opportunities.
- Identifying and supporting students in completing the Seal of Biliteracy requirements, with a focus on students whose first language is not English.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated education and related experience that includes five or more years of working with youth. (Teaching, counseling, or related experience preferred)
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application.

- Proficiency with career exploration resources and assessment tools
- Commitment to creating an inclusive learning and work environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external audiences
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.
