Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking a candidate to join our friendly, seven-person eye department with Friday afternoons off. This position is benefit eligible working 40 hours per week. Duties will include rooming patients, taking brief histories, checking vision, and performing some specialized testing such as taking photographs of optic nerves and retinas. We take a team approach to helping patients receive thorough, efficient and educational visits to the ophthalmology department. You will be working as an assistant to Dr. McCormack and on-the-job training will be provided. Both of our physicians are board-certified ophthalmologists who have been also been certified in diversity, equity and inclusion.

Job Duties:

• Supports the provider in a variety of patient care duties and performs related clerical duties in accordance with the area assigned
• Rooms patients and records all medical information in the patient’s EMR
• Prepares exam rooms for provider’s use, documents all prescribed, OTC medication and drug samples per protocols
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies
• Performs administrative/clerical duties such as filing, phone calls, and faxing

• Skills: Strong, competent computer skills; good time management and organizational skills.
• Abilities: Relate well and communicate with patients, providers, and staff. Able to demonstrate self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision. Able to maintain high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

• $18.36 - $23.50/hour (full pay range is $18.36 - $27.54)
