Description

Summary:

The Sales Designer at Botanical Designs plays a crucial role in driving revenue by matching the needs of targeted customers with the company's services. Using a consultative approach, the Sales Designer focuses on understanding clients' needs and proposing solutions that align with those needs, involving products and services offered by the company.

Responsibilities include identifying potential commercial clients who prefer premium solutions, understanding their project requirements, and offering expert advice on plants and design. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, knowledgeability, passion, and the ability to confidently address objections and close sales. The consultative selling process encompasses preparing clients for questions, analyzing their needs, providing recommendations, resolving any issues, and ultimately, securing the sale.

Accountabilities

Sells the full range of products and services offered by the Botanical Designs families of companies

Calls and conducts in-person meetings with potential and current customers to generate sales

Owns the entire sales process from qualification to signing

Acts as the Account Manager for assigned customers

Keeps Salesforce up to date with all known opportunities and details about customers

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Uses any means necessary (call, email, connect on social media, attend networking events etc.) to connect with potential buyers of services or products the company provides and uncover their needs to propose recommendations and persuade them that our company is the right partner to meet those needs. Holds and logs in Salesforce at a minimum 15 live customer conversations a week (195 a quarter) with active or potential customers. This can include phone calls, video calls, or in person conversations. Emails, text messages, or calls where the Sales Designer did not connect with the customer (i.e. left a voicemail), do not count toward this goal.

Owns the entire sales process for customer’s buying decision, across all services and products the company offers.

Collaborates with other Sales Designers on aspects of a proposal that are not a strong area for themselves and splits commission accordingly to ensure the customer is best served with the best available expertise the company can offer.

Keeps Salesforce up to date with all known opportunities and details as soon as they are identified and seeks out up to date information from the customer to build a comprehensive picture of the customer relationship.

Attends walkthroughs with potential and current customers to identify selling opportunities that meet the customer’s needs that can be recommended to the customer.

Conducts Opportunity Audits to ensure Closed Won opportunities in Salesforce are complete and meet the company’s standards for information comprehensiveness at the time of billing.

Marks opportunities in Salesforce as Ready to be Billed as soon as the opportunity has been fulfilled with the customer.

Act as the Account Manager for assigned accounts, which includes staying abreast of client issues and cases, conducting calls and walkthroughs, conducting a semi-annual Account Check-in (account review), and identifying new service and product opportunities for the account.

Collaborate with the operations department to ensure that installations are fulfilled in accordance with the signed agreement.

When driving a company vehicle:

Maintains a clean vehicle, ensuring interior and exterior cleanliness

Removes personal items from vehicles daily (lunchboxes, cell phones, garbage, etc.)

Adheres to Company maintenance inspection policy

Reports all accidents (regardless of nature and severity) immediately

Monitors Salesforce, emails, and phone messages throughout workday and responds in a timely manner, always following the company Sunset Rule for internal and external communications (all customer inquiries get a response or acknowledgement to the customer by the close of business).

Consistently updates and utilizes Salesforce to document all daily work, keeping accurate and up-to-date records on all accounts.

Attends and participates in weekly department L-10 (Level 10) meetings:

Updates Scorecard prior to the meeting each week o Actively participates in each segment of meetings

Brings up relevant issues for discussion

Participates in driving solutions to the issues up for discussion

Does not shy away from the concept of pitching products and services to the client that they know will meet the client's needs

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely present technical subjects to customers.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage change effectively.

Computer Skills: Comfortable and effective working in the Microsoft family of productivity products; especially Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Outlook, and Teams. Comfortable working with Salesforce and other web-based productivity software.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience customer service background and/or formal degree in Business Administration, Horticulture, or Design; combination of education and experience will be evaluated for equivalency.

Horticulture background required, either through education or work experience, minimum 3 years.

Must have knowledge of horticultural reference materials, and plant identification. Latin nomenclature knowledge required.

Clean Driving Record Preferred

Qualifications:

Demonstrated track record of successful sales and customer service experience

Knowledge of appropriate safety and environmental revisions

Experience with and knowledge of handling plants and tools, safely and securely

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Driver’s license Physical Requirements:

Frequent walking, talking, listening, squatting, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, grasping, pushing, pulling etc.

Specific vision abilities necessary include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus etc.

May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions (rain, sun etc.) for extended periods of time and/or field Environments performing outdoor work with moderate to occasional loud noise.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

$65,000-$70,000 Base Plus uncapped commission
