We have immediate openings for Postdoctoral Research Fellow position (Polymer Chemistry) in Translational Research Lab in the Department of Cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. We are an interdisciplinary team with broad mission to develop new technologies to solve challenging problems in cardiology and critical care, with a great emphasis on clinical translations.

The candidate must have a PhD (or equivalent) degree in a relevant field. The postdoc in this position is expected to have a strong background in material synthesis and characterization (e.g., organic synthesis, polymer synthesis, or nanomaterials). The primary duty of the position is to discover and create novel biomaterials for gas carriers and acoustically responsive nanomaterials.

The successful candidate should be highly motivated, driven by ambition to develop new concepts and IPs, who is an independent thinker, willing to learn new skills to accomplish complex tasks and solve problems. The position also stresses the ability to work closely with scientists and clinicians from different fields for preclinical testing in small and large animals. In this position, you will gain full nanotheraupetic development experience from molecular design, in vitro screening to in vivo safety and efficacy evaluation.

Candidates who possess some of the following qualities areencouraged to apply:

Strong knowledge and experience in conducting multi-step organic synthesis, and various controlled polymerization techniques.

Strong understanding and skills in materials characterizations.

Experience in colloids and interfacial phenomena, e.g., foam, emulsions, lipid nanoparticles, self-assembly or hydrogels.

Experience with tissue culture techniques and various bioassay techniques.

Experience in working with small animals (not required)

Experience in ultrasound imaging, device fabrication, 3D printing. (not required)
