Boston Bioprocess is Hiring a Head of Data Science Near Champaign, IL
- Lead and build the company’s core data platform to digitalize and centralize all process data from various scientific unit operations on both bench and pilot scale
- Develop AI/ML capabilities with existing large public datasets to enable deep learning and predictive modeling across major microorganism groups including bacteria, yeast and fungi
- Use data platform/modeling/data science to help modernize and optimize process development and scale up in fermentation and DSP towards large scale manufacturing
- Serve as the data science lead interfacing with clients and investors when needed
- BS or MS with 5-10 years of experience in AI/ML/deep learning/predictive modeling with a strong interest in industrial biotech, or 5-10 years of experience in bioinformatics/scale up with demonstrated capabilities in AI/ML
- Very strong communication skills for both internal leadership and direct communication with investors/clients
- Familiarity on how metabolic discovery to process engineering to scale up to manufacture works is highly desired
- Familiarity in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) in traditional approach and modern development in either Ag/Chemical/CPG/Biotech space is a strong plus
