Under the supervision of the Site Manager, provides safe and efficient patient transportation and ensuring that items as directed are picked up and delivered timely between various clinics. This position also assists in the maintenance off corporate building, clinics, grounds and other duties as required.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

*Administrative Functions:*

1. Picks up schedule and ensures he/she understands the location of the addresses of the patients to pick up: allows enough time between routes to ensure patient arrives at the clinic on time.

2. Provides safe and efficient transportation services for patients to meet Borrego Community Health Foundations objectives.

3. Ensures company van stays in efficient and clean condition at all times.

4. Accurately maintains a daily log and record of mileage and keeps an accurate maintenance log for all assigned vehicles.

5. Maintains good-quality communication with patients during transport in promoting Borrego Community Health Foundations professional image.

6. Observes all applicable state and federal laws for vehicle operations.

7. Picks up mail from the post office in a timely manner and brings it to a designated central location.

8. Picks up inter-office mail from other sites in a timely manner and delivers paychecks to sites as directed.

9. Performs supply and delivery runs for appropriate departments and sites as directed.

10. Transports bagged infectious waste to appropriate disposal sites as directed.

11. Assists as necessary with the monitoring of licensing and maintenance needs of vehicles to ensure the assigned company vehicle stays in efficient running condition.

12. Performs maintenance and upkeep duties on the vehicles enduring duties are performed in a timely manner; calls facility supervisor if work is beyond his or her scope of skills.

14. Other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

*Minimum Qualifications:*

1. Graduate of approved high school or GED equivalent.

2. Basic computer skills are required in order to perform basic data entry.

3. One year work experience.

4. Valid Driver License and clean driving record

5. All staff that is presently working within a clinic is required to have a Current and Valid CPR and First Aide certification on file with the Human Resources Department. This is for clinical and administrative staff. This new license requirement is mandatory for continued employment, CPR and First Aide certification must be obtained though the **American Heart Association**. Internet certificates do not comply and for this reason are not valid.
