Quality Assurance Tester

The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful software development—and that means rigorous testing. That’s why we need you, a knowledgeable test engineer who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a test engineer on our team, you’ll work with testers, developers, engineers, and analysts to evaluate software developed for the client. You’ll work on creating a test plan with test cases based on user stories. Using automation to streamline, you’ll generate data and implement the test cases to observe how the software performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You’ll automate continuous security and performance testing and monitor the health of the data reporting tools.

This is an opportunity to leverage your skills by writing the code to test. You’ll also further your experience in system integration and cloud management and explore cutting edge approaches to assessing climate change.

You Have:

  • 2 years of experience coordinating with development teams, product owners, and key technical stakeholders to ensure requirements and user stories are developed and tested
  • 2 years of experience with developing test cases and test scripts for products and systems, executing tests, and providing analysis on reliability and functionality
  • 2 years of experience with automated testing and tools like Selenium
  • 2 years of experience working in an environment with data-centric software architecting, software systems engineering, microservice architecture, containerization, cloud services, and agile development
  • Experience with documenting problems occurring during the testing process and coordinating defect correction with the development team
  • Experience with using tools , including Jira, Confluence, or ServiceNow for preparing user stories, documenting defects, and tracking to resolution
  • Experience with assisting a software engineering team to ensure accurate monitoring and metrics that satisfy system requirements are built into applications before deployment to production
  • Experience with setting up code repositories, branching, and merging using GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering


Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with enabling the Continuous Delivery Pipeline using requirements and design guidelines
  • Experience with participating in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the CI/CD Pipeline
  • Experience with Agile methodology for software engineering and product management
  • Experience working with federal agencies

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
